For the fifth consecutive year, the Chicago Tribune has named Captive Resources a Top Workplace in Chicagoland. This year's list marked Captive Resources' best finish yet as the company ranked second-best among midsized companies. Last year, Captive Resources ranked fifth among small organizations (companies with 249 employees or fewer) before graduating to the midsize category (companies with 250-999 employees) in 2021.

Top Workplaces 2021: Explore the full list of Chicago-area winners
To determine the rankings, Chicago Tribune partners with Energage, an organization that has been studying and ranking top workplaces for more than a decade. Energage conducts employee surveys for media in 53 markets and surveys more than 2 million employees at more than 7,000 organizations each year.
The companies named to the Top Workplaces in Chicago list were determined through employee surveys conducted by Energage. The surveys measured qualities such as company leadership, communication, career opportunities, working environment, managerial skills, pay, and benefits.
Captive Resources provides mid-market companies with the ability to become insurance company owners rather than insurance buyers and lower their total cost of risk. We do this through the creation, development, and oversight of member-owned group captive insurance companies. We currently consult to 42 group captives with 5,400-plus member-companies and more than $3 billion in annual premium. We support every aspect of the captives we advise, from claims advocacy to operational oversight, risk management, financial services, regulatory compliance, investment services, and more.
