Dave Netti Receives NSC Distinguished Service to Safety Award

September 16th, 2026

Dave Netti, Head of Risk Services at Captive Resources, has received the National Safety Council’s (NSC) Distinguished Service to Safety Award, the council’s highest individual honor.

Netti was recognized during the opening session of the 2026 NSC Safety Congress & Expo alongside fellow recipients Adam Bates, Global EHS Vice President at Vibrantz Technologies; Mike Court, Senior Vice President of EHSQ and Sustainability at Graham; and Mohamed Elashheb, EHS Specialist at APTIM.

The NSC first presented the Distinguished Service to Safety Award in 1942 to honor individuals and organizations working to reduce occupational injuries. Since then, the award has recognized safety professionals whose leadership, collaboration, and innovation have advanced workplace safety.

At Captive Resources, Netti develops and delivers risk management resources for roughly 7,000 Property & Casualty (P&C) member-companies. He has placed particular emphasis on improving access to workplace safety resources for small and midsize employers. His service to the NSC as a board member, delegate, and delegate chair has further strengthened his commitment to advancing safety across industries.

“I’m very honored and humbled by this award,” Netti said. “It speaks to the opportunity I’ve had throughout my career to work with such great individuals. Recognition and awards may be given to one person, but they reflect the people you’ve surrounded yourself with. I’ve been fortunate to work with really talented people, and this recognition speaks to everyone’s success.”

The other 2026 recipients also represent a broad range of contributions to the safety profession. Bates has helped develop technology-based tools for ergonomic evaluations and incident learning. Court has contributed to research and initiatives focused on eliminating serious injuries and fatalities, including through his work with the Construction Safety Research Alliance and the Canadian Construction Safety Council. Elashheb has spent 25 years advancing worker safety and promoting a commitment to doing the right thing, even in challenging circumstances.

Netti’s recognition reflects his longstanding dedication to helping employers identify risks, strengthen safety practices, and protect the people who make their businesses possible.
