On a recent episode of the Global Captive Podcast, host Richard Cutcher sat down with Jim Leimkuhler, the CEO of Progressive Produce, to discuss how his company benefited from joining Raffles Insurance, Ltd. — a group captive domiciled in the Cayman Islands. Leimkuhler led the company's transition from a self-insurance program to the member-owned group captive shortly after taking the helm of Progressive Produce in 2003.
"(Joining Raffles) was probably one of the best decisions I ever made. I had a conversation with the CEO of a local produce company (and) he introduced me to Raffles. And, basically, we couldn't figure out how to join fast enough" said Leimkuhler. "For us, it was pretty much a no-brainer decision."
Leimkuhler went on to become the president of Raffles for a time and remains active in the captive.
