While Captive Resources (CRI) is widely recognized for its member-owned group captive expertise, we continually strive to ensure captive members have access to a variety of innovative options for their risk financing needs. We accomplish this goal through strategic captive options and services, which complement and support our member-owned group captive offerings.
Property Group Captive
Members of the casualty captives that we work with are eligible to participate in a property group captive. The property group captive offers competitive pricing and broad coverage, along with the significant buying power and price stability of a large program with insured values over $100 billion.
The captive also provides its member-owners a unique “win-win” proposition by allowing potential dividends for favorable loss experience without levying assessments for adverse experience.
Captive members and prospective members frequently express interest in financing both collateral and premium costs. In response, CRI partnered with national premium finance companies to introduce a program that offers premium and collateral financing for captive members.
In addition, members can finance ancillary lines, assessments, and audits. A member’s insurance broker can work with the finance company to develop individual quotes. The program provides captive members quick, hassle-free access to premium financing with low rates and attractive terms.
Broker Resources — Umbrella Services
Broker Resources is a wholesale broker specifically established to work closely with brokers placing Umbrella/Excess/Buffer coverage for group captive members that work with CRI. By building a volume of best-in-class companies, Broker Resources provides competitive and stable Umbrella and Cyber pricing for captive members. Brokers can access Broker Resources for any current or prospective captive member.
Kensington Management Group, Ltd (KMG) is a licensed captive insurance manager based in the Cayman Islands and a sister company to CRI. KMG is a full-service management firm, providing captive insurance services like license application, captive formation, regulatory reporting and liaison, accounting, and more.
KMG boasts a diverse and expansive portfolio of single-parent and group captives. Based on premium volume, KMG is the largest independent captive manager in Cayman, representing 15 percent of the total captive premiums written there.
Cayman Islands Domicile
For decades, Cayman has been at the forefront of offshore captive insurance domiciles, and for good reason. Cayman is backed by a stable political environment and trustworthy professional support services and operates under careful government supervision. Cayman’s proven commitment to the captive insurance industry has made the islands the second largest insurance domicile in the world.
831b — Micro Captives
CRI’s approach to these smaller captives aligns with our overall group captive concept. We design 831b captives (i.e., micro captives) to provide member-owners with a true insurance mechanism that provides greater control and risk management. Our captive industry experience gives us the necessary expertise to help your company assess its individual needs and properly structure a micro captive to reflect your unique circumstances.
