Captive Resources (CRI) is pleased to announce the company has been named the recipient of the 2021 Top Workplaces USA award in the Financial Services category. In addition, CRI received first place in Communication Culture Excellence and awards for Clued-In Leaders, Top Leaders, and Innovation. The winners were determined solely by the employee feedback from more than 1,100 organizations participating in the Top Workplaces USA survey.
“It’s an honor to earn an award like Top Workplaces that’s based on genuine insights into a company’s culture from the people who know it best — the employees,” said Nick Hentges, co-Chief Executive Officer of Captive Resources. “I’m thrilled to see that our colleagues are so engaged and have such a high degree of satisfaction. I want to offer a sincere thank you to each of them for making Captive Resources a sought-after place to work. Investing in our workforce and fostering a collaborative environment have been top priorities for us, and we know recognition like this will provide us with an even greater edge in attracting and retaining high-caliber talent.”
This is the inaugural year for the Top Workplaces USA award, presented by Energage, a purpose-driven organization that develops solutions to build and brand Top Workplaces. Results are calculated by comparing the survey’s research-based statements, including 15 Culture Drivers proven to predict high performance against industry benchmarks.
In addition to the Top Workplaces USA award, in 2020 CRI was named fourth in the Best Places to Work in Insurance by Business Insurance and Best Companies Group and placed in the top five in Chicago Tribune’s Top Workplaces 2020.
Top Workplaces USA offers national recognition for large organizations, those with more than 150 employees, and those that may have operations in multiple markets. Several thousand organizations from across the country were invited, and more than 1,100 participated in the Top Workplaces USA survey. Winners of the Top Workplaces USA list are chosen based solely on employee feedback gathered through an employee engagement survey, issued by Energage. Results are calculated by comparing the survey’s research-based statements, including 15 Culture Drivers that are proven to predict high performance against industry benchmarks.

For four decades, Captive Resources has provided mid-market companies the ability to become insurance company owners rather than insurance buyers and to lower their total cost of risk. We do this through the creation, development, and oversight of member-owned group captive insurance companies. We currently consult to 40 group captives comprising more than 5,000 member-companies and $2.8 billion in annual premium, and which have returned more than $2.5 billion in dividends to their member-owners. We support every aspect of the captives we advise, from claims advocacy to operational oversight, risk management, financial services, regulatory compliance, investment services, and more.
